The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG) on May 25, 2026, notified the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Amendment Order, 2026, further to amend the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order, 2000.
The following has been stated:-
•The amended provision states that households with an LPG connection that later obtain a PNG connection cannot immediately book an LPG refill.
•They must, within 30 days of getting the PNG connection, either surrender the LPG connection or obtain a transfer voucher.
•The transfer voucher can be used for a future LPG connection in an area where PNG is unavailable.
•The change aims to prevent the simultaneous use of subsidized LPG where PNG services are already accessible.
It shall come into force on May 25, 2026.
