Industry Specific ComplianceThe Finance Department, West Bengal on May 22, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Holiday on May 28, 2026 for Id-Ud-Zoha (Bakrid).

The following has been stated namely: -

• The earlier public holidays declared for May 26 2026 (Tuesday) and May 27, 2026 (Wednesday) for Bakrid-related observance have been revised. 

• Based on updated information, Id-Ud-Zoha (Bakrid) will now be observed on May 28, 2026 (Thursday). 

• Accordingly, the Governor has declared May 28, 2026 as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. 

• The previously notified holidays for May 26, 2026 and May 27, 2026 stand cancelled.
