Government of Delhi Revises Bakrid Holiday to May 28, 2026

Labour ComplianceThe Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, on May 26, 2026, issued a notification revising the holiday for Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid). In partial modification of the earlier notification dated December 4, 2025, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has declared that the Bakrid holiday, previously scheduled for May 27, 2026 (Wednesday), will now be observed on May 28, 2026 (Thursday).

The revised holiday shall apply to all Government Offices, Autonomous Bodies, and Public Sector Undertakings functioning under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The change has been made through an official notification issued by the Co-Ordination Branch of the General Administration Department.

Accordingly, all departments and institutions under the Delhi Government are required to observe the public holiday on May 28, 2026, in place of May 27, 2026.
