The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on May 26, 2026, issued Draft CRZ notification, proposing the inclusion of LAB, N-Paraffin & CBFS Storage.
The following has been stated:-
•Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change has issued a draft notification proposing amendments to the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 2019.
The proposal seeks to permit the receipt and storage of Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), N-Paraffin, and Carbon Black Feedstock (CBFS) in CRZ areas, excluding CRZ-IA zones.
•The amendment follows recommendations from Expert Appraisal Committees and the National Coastal Zone Management Authority.
•Public objections or suggestions may be submitted within 60 days from May 27, 2026.
