Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Karnataka, on May 26, 2026, issued the Draft Karnataka Excise (Sale of Indian and Foreign Liquors) (Second Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Karnataka Excise (Sale of Indian and Foreign Liquors) Rules, 1968.

The following has been stated:-

•The amendment inserts a new proviso in Rule 5 specifying reservation percentages for e-auction of CL-2A and CL-9A licences. 

•The reservation has been fixed at 5.25% each for the Scheduled Caste-A and Scheduled Caste-B categories, 4.5% for the Scheduled Caste-C, and 3% for the Scheduled Tribe category. 

•These revised reservation provisions will apply to the allotment process of the concerned licences through e-auction.

Any objections or suggestions may be given in 7 days.
