Industry Specific ComplianceThe Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on May 26, 2026, issued a public notice releasing the draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Deviation Settlement Mechanism and Related Matters) (Third Amendment) Regulations, 2026 for stakeholder consultation. The draft regulations have been prepared under Section 178 read with Section 79(1)(c) and (h) of the Electricity Act, 2003 and are available on the Commission’s official website.

Stakeholders and interested persons have been invited to submit comments, suggestions, or objections on the draft regulations by June 26, 2026. Submissions may be sent physically to the Secretary, CERC, New Delhi, or electronically through email and the SAUDAMINI e-filing portal.

The Commission clarified that comments received after the prescribed deadline may not be considered while finalizing the regulations. The consultation process has been initiated in accordance with the Electricity (Procedure for Previous Publication) Rules, 2005.
