Employees' State Insurance Corporation Issues Amendment for Change of Overseas Manufacturing Sites Under DG ESIC Rate Contracts

Labour ComplianceThe Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on May 27, 2026, issued Amendment No. 10/2026 regarding change of overseas manufacturers/manufacturing sites for certain drugs covered under DG ESIC Rate Contracts Nos. 156, 161 and 166. The amendment has been circulated to ESIC medical institutions, hospitals, PGIMSRs, and State ESI Schemes.

Under the amendment, changes in overseas manufacturing sites have been approved for three pharmaceutical products supplied by Novartis Healthcare Private Limited, Novartis India Limited and Johnson and Johnson Private Limited. The affected medicines include Ribociclib 200 mg (Kryxana), Inclisiran Injection 284 mg (Sybrava), and Ibrutinib 140 mg (Imbruvica). Manufacturing locations have been shifted from Singapore, Italy, and Switzerland-based facilities to revised overseas facilities located in Slovenia, Austria, and Italy respectively.

ESIC clarified that the amendment has been issued on the request of the concerned firms and that the drugs supplied from the revised manufacturing sites will continue to conform to the approved composition, strength, standards, packaging requirements, and provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and related rules. The firms will also continue to remain governed by the terms and conditions of the respective DG ESIC Rate Contracts.
