The Ministry of Textiles on May 25, 2026, issued fixation of Maximum Ex-Factory Price for 580 gm Type A & B Jute Bags (May 2026)
The notification, issued under Clause 3(6) of the Jute and Jute Textiles Control Order, 2016, finalizes the maximum ex-factory price for 580 gm Type A and Type B jute bags. The price is fixed at ₹2,19,216 per metric tonne and ₹12,714.51 per 100 bags for both types.
It further specifies that these bags, of size 94 cm × 57 cm and conforming to BIS standard IS: 16186:2014, along with prescribed technical parameters, are to be bought and sold during May 2026. The bags must also carry required identification markings as per existing instructions.
Additionally, each bag must bear the specified emblem, the manufacturing mill’s name, and BIS certification marking, and must meet the prescribed minimum breaking strength standards. The notified price is exclusive of GST, which will be payable separately by the purchaser.
