The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on May 29, 2026, issued circular on Quantity Freeze Limits for Indices.
The circular notifies the implementation of revised quantity freeze limits for index derivatives contracts, in line with the methodology prescribed in the NSE F&O consolidated circular dated April 28, 2026. These limits will come into effect from June 01, 2026, and specify the maximum allowable order size for key indices such as BANKNIFTY, NIFTY, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, and NIFTYNXT50.
Members are required to update their trading systems by loading the latest contract files (contract.gz and NSE_FO_contract_ddmmyyyy.csv.gz) prior to trading on the effective date. These files are उपलब्ध on the NSE Extranet server as well as on the official NSE website.
The exchange has also made detailed information on quantity freeze limits for each underlying available online for member reference. Compliance with the updated limits is essential to ensure smooth trading operations.
