The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on May 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of the ceiling price of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin Injection.
The following has been stated:-
•The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the ceiling price of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin Powder for Injection (6 lakh units) following a review order issued by the Department of Pharmaceuticals.
•The revised ceiling price has been fixed at ₹13.42 per vial (exclusive of GST), incorporating the 2026 WPI adjustment of 0.64956%.
•Manufacturers selling above the revised ceiling price must reduce prices accordingly, while those below it must maintain their existing MRP.
•The notification also reiterates compliance requirements relating to price lists, reporting, and recovery of any overcharged amounts with interest.
