Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Directorate of Commercial Taxes, Govt. of West Bengal on May 22, 2026, notified regarding the mandatory E-Way Bills for Intra-State Movement of Goods Above ₹50,000 from June 01, 2026.

It states that the generation of an e-way bill for the intra-State movement of goods where the consignment value exceeds ₹50,000 and the movement both originates and terminates within the State. The requirement applies to all such movements except those related to job work as defined under the GST law. The notification supersedes the earlier Notification No. 03/2023-C.T./GST dated 18 December 2023, while preserving actions already taken under the previous notification. 

The new requirement will come into effect from June 01, 2026, and is intended to strengthen monitoring and compliance in the movement of goods within West Bengal.
