The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on May 31, 2026, issued a notification to provide concessional customs duty rates on specified goods imported from the Sultanate of Oman.
The following has been stated:
• The notification grants exemption from customs duty on specified goods listed in Table I, Table II, and Table III, subject to the rates prescribed therein.
• Certain goods covered under Table II and Table III shall also be eligible for concessional rates of Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess (AIDC) as specified in the respective tables.
• Goods covered under Table III shall be eligible for concessional duty under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) mechanism up to the prescribed annual import quantity, subject to the conditions specified in the Annexure to the notification.
• The benefit of the exemption shall be available only where the importer establishes that the goods are of Omani origin in accordance with the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020, and other applicable rules notified by the Central Government.
The notification came into force on June 01, 2026.
