The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on May 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding the review of Sugarcane (Control) Order, 1966.
The following has been stated:-
•The government had circulated the Draft Sugarcane (Control) Order, 2026 on April 20, 2026 and invited stakeholder comments for one month.
•After reviewing suggestions received from State Governments and other stakeholders, it was decided that the draft requires further reconsideration.
•Accordingly, the Draft Sugarcane (Control) Order, 2026 has been withdrawn for revisiting and revision.
