The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on May 29, 2026, issued the notification regarding the revised tariff values for specified imported goods under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962
The following has been stated namely: -
• The revised tariff value tables cover key commodities including:
o Edible oils (Crude Palm Oil, RBD Palm Oil, Palmolein, Soya bean oil)
o Brass scrap
o Precious metals (gold and silver)
o Areca nuts
• Gold and Silver Valuation
o Gold (various forms) remains at USD 1423 per 10 grams.
o Silver (various forms) remains at USD 2368 per kilogram, with detailed classification of included and excluded forms.
• Other Commodity Values
o Crude Palm Oil, Palmolein, and Soya bean oil values are updated in Table-1.
o Brass scrap and Areca nuts retain or reflect specified tariff values, with Areca nuts at USD 9155 per metric tonne.
The revised tariff values will come into effect from May 30, 2026.
