Industry Specific ComplianceThe Revenue and Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra on June 01, 2026, notified regarding the revised Rates for the disposal of Sand and Minor Minerals from Overburden under the Sand Extraction Policy, 2025.

The following has been stated:

• The Government resolution revises the base rates and royalty charges for materials extracted from overburden in large Central and State Government mines operated by companies such as WCL and MOIL. The base rate for Wash Sand has been fixed at ₹2,000 per brass with a royalty of ₹400 per brass, while other minor minerals from overburden will attract a base rate of ₹200 per brass and a royalty of ₹50 per brass. 

• Additionally, a new category, Sandy Overburden, has been introduced, for which the base rate is fixed at ₹600 per brass and the royalty at ₹200 per brass.
