Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Coal on June 01, 2026, issued a notification regarding Renewal/Extension of Performance Bank Guarantee before Seven working days from due date of Expiry.

The following has been stated:-

•The Ministry has directed all coal block allocatees to renew and submit original Performance Bank Guarantees (PBGs) at least seven working days before the expiry of the existing guarantee. 

•The move aims to avoid delays and ambiguities arising from last-minute renewals and submission of only scanned copies. 

•Allocatees remain solely responsible for ensuring continuous validity of PBGs in accordance with the relevant agreements. 

•Failure to comply will be treated as a contractual breach and may result in action, including appropriation of up to 100% of the Performance Security.
