The Environment, Forests, Science & Technology Department, Govt. of Telangana on May 26, 2026, notified regarding the Fixation of Collection and Purchase rates of Abnus (Tunki/Beedi) Leaves for the Beedi Leaf Season, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The Government has approved the recommendations of the Advisory Committee and notified the Collection and Purchase Rates for Abnus (Beedi) Leaves for the Beedi Leaf Season, 2026, under the provisions of the Telangana Minor Forest Produce (Regulation of Trade) Act, 1971. For the season ending on June 30, 2026, the collection rate has been fixed at ₹3,400 per Standard Bag (SB), with one Standard Bag comprising 1,000 bundles of 50 leaves each.
• The decision aims to ensure fair remuneration to leaf collectors and regulate the procurement of beedi leaves through the State's forest produce trade mechanism.
