Labour ComplianceThe Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), on June 1, 2026, issued an advisory regarding the assignment of duties to personnel belonging to the Official Language (Rajbhasha) cadre. The communication follows deliberations held during the 34th All India Official Language Conference of ESIC, conducted on December 22–23, 2025 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, under the chairmanship of the Director General.

The issue discussed at the conference concerned the deployment of Rajbhasha personnel for sensitive and non-language-related functions in ESIC units. Such functions include handling medical cases, processing payments of super-specialty treatment bills, and other sensitive administrative matters that fall outside the scope of official language work.

Accordingly, ESIC has requested all its offices, hospitals, medical colleges, training institutions, and directorates to avoid assigning Official Language cadre personnel to such sensitive duties unrelated to their designated Rajbhasha responsibilities. The communication has been issued with the approval of the competent authority.
