Labour ComplianceThe Labour Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, on May 17, 2026, issued an order regarding the disposal of pending online registration applications under the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996 (BOCW Act).

The department noted that Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Commissioners had earlier been notified as Registering Officers under Section 6 of the BOCW Act through notifications dated August 11, 2000. Since the post of Assistant Labour Commissioner has subsequently been redesignated as Deputy Labour Commissioner, the department has revised the authority responsible for processing pending applications.

Accordingly, all pending online BOCW registration applications across Delhi shall be disposed of by the concerned Deputy Labour Commissioners in their respective districts. However, for South West District, the Labour Officer will continue to function as the Registering Officer for such applications. The order has been issued with the approval of the Secretary (Labour).
