The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on May 21, 2026, issued the Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Amendment Regulations, 2026, to further amend the Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022.
The following has been stated:
In the Food Safety and Standards (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022, in regulation 4, for sub-regulation (2), the following has been substituted: - “(2) Every package of vegan foods, after the approval, shall carry the logo as specified below”
They shall come into force on July 01, 2027.
