The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on May 29, 2026, notified the revised standards for LAN switch and 5G Core Equipment.
The following has been stated:
The revised standards notified are TEC 37942606 – Essential Requirements for LAN Switch and TEC 40182606 – Essential Requirements for 5G Core. The notification has come into effect from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
Further, the existing standards and the newly notified revised standards will remain valid concurrently for a period of 90 days from the date of publication of the notification. After the expiry of this transition period, only the revised standards shall be applicable for conformity assessment and certification purposes
