The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) on June 02, 2026, notified the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Inspection and Investigation) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 to further amend the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Inspection and Investigation) Regulations, 2017.
The following has been stated:-
•The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Inspection and Investigation) Amendment Regulations, 2026 revise key procedural provisions relating to inspections and disciplinary proceedings.
•The definition of “Disciplinary Committee” has been broadened to allow one or more persons, instead of only whole-time members, to constitute the committee.
•The definition of “service provider” has been aligned with Section 3(31A) of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
•The amendments also empower the Disciplinary Committee to issue directions in addition to taking actions, clarify that directions under Regulation 14 must be issued by the Disciplinary Committee, and replace references to Form A with a format to be separately notified by the Board.
•Further, the existing Form A has been omitted from the regulations to facilitate a more flexible notification-based framework.
They shall come into force on June 03, 2026.
