The Labour and Employment Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has drafted the Code on Wages (Ladakh) Rules, 2026, in line with directions from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. These draft rules were notified on April 29, 2026 (S.O. No. 182) under the provisions of the Code on Wages, 2019, aiming to regulate wages, bonuses, and related matters in the region.
The draft rules are intended to consolidate and streamline wage-related regulations, ensuring a structured and uniform framework for wage administration in Ladakh. They form part of broader labour law reforms to simplify compliance and enhance transparency.
Before finalizing the rules, the department has invited comments and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public. A copy of the draft rules has been shared for reference to enable informed feedback.
Interested individuals and organizations can submit their inputs within 45 days from the date of publication of the notice, including via email at [email protected], ensuring participatory policy-making.
