Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on June 02, 2026, notified the Grant of Trade License for Use of Premises and Storage of Articles in a Premises Bye-Laws, 2023, Solan Municipal Corporation.

The following has been stated:-

•The Municipal Corporation Solan has notified new Trade License Bye-Laws, 2026 under the Himachal Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act, 1994, making it mandatory for businesses and storage activities listed in the annexures to obtain a trade license before operating within municipal limits. 

•Licenses may be issued for up to five years and can be renewed upon payment of the prescribed fee, with penalties applicable for delayed renewal. 

•The bye-laws classify businesses into small, medium, and large categories with different fee structures and also prescribe charges for film and documentary shooting within the city. 

•License holders must comply with operational conditions, maintain records, pay municipal dues, and allow inspections by authorized officials. 

•Licenses may be denied to persons with specified disqualifications, including habitual violators and those convicted of unlawful sale or storage activities. 

•The bye-laws also provide for suspension, cancellation, and monetary penalties in cases of false declarations or repeated violations, while listing the trades and articles that require licensing for operation or storage.

These Bye Laws shall come into force from June 02, 2026.
