Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on June 01, 2026, issued the Draft Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Amendment Rules, 2026, further to amend the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Rules, 2011.

The following has been stated:-

•The Himachal Pradesh Government has amended Rule 6(2) of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Extension to the Scheduled Areas) Rules, 2011. 

•Under the revised provision, no transfer of land or any interest in land by a Scheduled Tribe member can take place except in accordance with Section 3 of the Himachal Pradesh Transfer of Land (Regulation) Act, 1968. 

•The amendment makes consultation with the concerned Gram Sabha mandatory before such transfers are effected. 

•This measure aims to strengthen safeguards for tribal land rights in Scheduled Areas.

The objections or suggestions, if any, may be submitted within 30 days from June 03, 2026.
