The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on June 05, 2026, notified regarding the revision of the Manpower of ESIC & MC Bibvewadi as per ESIC HR Norm 2023 and NMC requirements.
The following has been stated:
• ESIC has approved a revised manpower sanction for a healthcare institution comprising 200 commissioned inpatient beds, 20 ICU beds, HDU facilities, super-specialty services, and associated medical college infrastructure. The revised staffing pattern covers a comprehensive workforce including teaching faculty, medical officers, resident doctors, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals, administrative personnel, engineering staff, blood bank personnel, research laboratory staff, and outsourced support services.
• The sanction provides for staffing across major broad-specialty departments such as Medicine, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Emergency Medicine, along with super-specialty departments including Medical Oncology and Nephrology.
• A significant number of nursing officers, laboratory personnel, pharmacists, technicians, administrative staff, sanitation workers, security personnel, and support staff have been sanctioned to ensure the smooth functioning of clinical, teaching, and research activities. The order further clarifies that contractual and outsourced manpower should be engaged only based on actual requirements, workload, and bed occupancy, with financial concurrence from local finance authorities.
• The revised staffing norms supersede all earlier manpower sanctions and are intended to support the efficient operation of the hospital, medical college, intensive care facilities, and associated healthcare services, including the manpower requirements for 20 ICU beds and 20 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds.
