Industry Specific ComplianceThe International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), on June 4, 2026, issued an advisory to all regulated entities in IFSCs regarding heightened cyber security risks arising from advanced frontier Artificial Intelligence (AI) models. The advisory is to be read alongside IFSCA's existing cyber security and cyber resilience guidelines and does not dilute any existing compliance obligations.

IFSCA highlighted that recent advancements in frontier AI models have significantly enhanced offensive cyber capabilities, enabling rapid analysis of complex codebases, identification of known and zero-day vulnerabilities, assessment of exploitability, and generation of functional exploits. These developments are expected to reduce the time between vulnerability disclosure and exploitation from weeks to hours, thereby increasing cyber risk exposure for regulated entities.

In view of the anticipated wider availability of such AI capabilities, regulated entities are encouraged to reassess their cyber security risk frameworks, strengthen their security posture, and implement proportionate mitigating controls. Entities are advised to adopt the measures prescribed in Annexure A of the advisory to enhance cyber resilience against emerging AI-enabled threats. [Circular No. IFSCA-CSD/MSC/3/2026-DCS]
