Secretarial ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on June 05, 2026, notified regarding the Update in BEFS Portal for TDS Refund Request.

The circular informs members about the process for claiming TDS refunds on general charges through the BEFS Portal. Since April 10, 2021, members have been required to upload TDS certificates online via the BEFS portal, eliminating the need for physical or email submissions.

Effective June 09, 2026, the refund application process has been enhanced. Members can now track the status of their TDS refund requests, including payment details, through a new “Status Report (TDS Refund Request)” tab. Additionally, the amount of mandatory information required for submitting applications has been reduced to simplify the process.

From June 09, 2026 onwards, all TDS refund requests for general charges will be accepted only through the BEFS portal, and requests submitted via any other mode will not be considered. Once a complete application is submitted, refunds are generally processed within 15–20 days, subject to verification. Members are advised to upload invoice-wise workings in Excel format to ensure faster processing.

The circular also outlines key requirements for filing refund applications, including submission of TDS certificate details, digitally signed certificates from the TRACES portal, and refund claim amounts. For other payments, members should pay on a net basis after TDS deduction, and any exceptions will require separate refund requests with the concerned department.
