This was reaffirmed in response to a request from the Forest Department, Government of Kerala.
Accordingly, the short code 1926 has now been formally allocated to the Forest Department of Kerala for handling forest-related assistance and emergencies within the state. The helpline is categorized as a Category-I mandatory service, meaning all telecom access service providers must support it.
The service will have restricted accessibility, meaning it can be accessed only within Kerala. It follows a Called Party Pays model, ensuring that callers are not charged for using the helpline.
Additionally, calls made to 1926 will be routed to the designated termination number 1800 425 4733. The nodal officer for this service is Shri Vinod S., Deputy Conservator of Forests (Development), whose contact details have been provided for coordination purposes.
