The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on June 08, 2026, notified regarding the fixation of the Interest Rate on Senior Citizens Welfare Fund Deposits for FY 2025–26.
The Government has notified that deposits held under the Senior Citizens Welfare Fund, established under the Ministry of Finance notification dated March 18, 2016, will earn interest at the rate of 6.85% per annum for the period from April 01, 2025, to March 31, 2026. The notified rate is effective from April 01, 2025, and will apply to all eligible deposits transferred to the Fund during the specified financial year.
