The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), through a revised upload based on the Review Order dated March 27, 2026, has recalculated the ceiling price for Anti-rabies Immunoglobulin Injection 300 IU/ml per ml under the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013). The computation was based on October 2023 market data and considered three qualifying brands with a market share of 1% and above.
The revised calculation determined an average Price to Retailer (PTR) of ₹100.58 per ml. After adding the prescribed retailer margin of 16%, the ceiling price was fixed at ₹116.67 per ml (excluding GST) vide S.O. 1575(E) dated March 25, 2026. Subsequent annual Wholesale Price Index (WPI) adjustments applicable from April 1, 2024, April 1, 2025, and April 1, 2026 were incorporated, resulting in a final ceiling price of ₹119.48 per ml (excluding GST).
The calculation was based on the brands EQUIRAB, PremiRAB and VINRIG marketed by Bharat Serums & Vaccines Ltd., Premium Serums & Vaccines Pvt. Ltd., and Vins Bioproducts Ltd., respectively. Manufacturers are required to price the formulation in accordance with the revised ceiling price notified by NPPA.
