The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on June 11, 2026, issued a notification regarding Telecommunications Equipment Standards revised by the Central Government.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Government has notified revised standards for specified telecommunication equipment under the provisions of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 and the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025.
•The revised standards cover MPLS-based transport network routers, LAN switches, structured LAN cabling, and solar photovoltaic-based standalone or hybrid power supply systems for Wi-Fi and similar telecom terminals.
•These standards will come into effect from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette.
•The notification aims to ensure updated technical requirements and conformity standards for telecom equipment.
