The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) on June 02, 2026, has issued an advisory directing all private FM radio broadcasters to strictly comply with Phase-III FM Radio Policy Guidelines.
The following has been stated:
The Ministry reiterated that broadcasters must retain recordings of broadcast content for three months, facilitate continuous monitoring of content and technical parameters by the authorized agency BECIL, and bear the associated monitoring costs.
The advisory also recalls earlier instructions requiring timely payment of spectrum charges, renewal of Wireless Operating Licences (WOL), and maintenance of valid licence copies at broadcasting stations. FM operators have been advised to ensure full compliance with all technical, licensing, and monitoring obligations under their permission agreements.
