The Government of Tamil Nadu on June 05, 2026, issued amendment to the Tamil Nadu Indian - Made Foreign Spirits (Manufacture) Rules, 1981.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the said Rules, in rule 4, after sub-rule (b), the following sub-rule shall be added, namely:-
“(c) In addition to the fee prescribed in sub-rule (b), as a condition of the licence granted or to be granted for the privilege of manufacturing Indian-made Foreign Spirits, an additional fee of Rupees Ninety shall be payable on each Standard Case of Indian-made Foreign Spirits issued or sold by the licensee, before removal from the manufactory:
Explanation.- For the purpose of this sub-rule “Standard Case” means a case of Indian-made Foreign Spirits containing nine bottles of 1000 ml each or twelve bottles of 750 ml each or twenty-four bottles of 375 ml each or forty-eight bottles of 180 ml each”.
