The Government of Chhattisgarh on April 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding Voluntary Aadhaar Authentication for Welfare Schemes.
The following has been stated:-
•The Chhattisgarh Government has notified the use of voluntary Aadhaar authentication for beneficiary registration, identity verification, benefit sanction, and prevention of duplicate records under the welfare schemes of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (CGBOCW).
•The measure follows approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and UIDAI under the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.
•Aadhaar authentication will be used only with the beneficiary’s consent and for specified welfare schemes.
•Workers who do not undergo Aadhaar authentication cannot be denied benefits and may instead use alternative identification documents such as a PAN card, passport, or any identity card issued by the Chhattisgarh Government.
•The notification covers 31 ongoing labour welfare schemes relating to education, housing, pensions, health, skill development, and financial assistance for construction workers and their families.
•The notification takes effect from April 24, 2026.
