Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Mines (MoM) on June 05, 2026, issued the Mineral Conservation and Development (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In Schedule-I — 

(a) In FORM F1, – 

(i) In the opening portion, for the words and figures “rule 62 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 1988”, the words and figures “rule 66 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2017” shall be substituted

(ii) In PART -II, after serial number 7, under the heading, – 

(A) “@Grades of ROM ore dispatched:”, in the table, against rows titled “Iron Ore”, under the column relating to “GRADES”, after serial number (a) and entries relating thereto, the following serial numbers and entries shall be inserted, namely: — “(aa) Below 35% Fe ROM (For Hematite Ore Only) (ab) 35% to below 45% Fe ROM (For Hematite Ore Only)”

• In FORM F2, in the opening portion, for the words and figures “rule 62 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 1988”, the words and figures “rule 66 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 2017” shall be substituted.

This shall come into force on June 05, 2026.
