Industry Specific ComplianceThe Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on June 09, 2026, issued the notification regarding the amendment to the 'Rating Manual 2026' for assessment of Digital Connectivity' under amended 'Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations, 2024'

The following has been stated namely: -

• TRAI has released the amended Rating Manual 2026 to align with the amended Rating of Properties for Digital Connectivity Regulations, 2026, improving assessment of digital connectivity in buildings. 

• A new multi-stage assessment and certification framework has been introduced, allowing digital connectivity evaluation even during the construction phase. 

• Properties can now opt for a Digital Connectivity Audit to identify and improve connectivity gaps. 

• Greater flexibility has been provided in assessing power infrastructure while maintaining reliability standards. 

• Technology-Neutral and Standardized Approach 

o Both fibre and wireless backhaul solutions are permitted. 

o Service performance will be assessed using a TRAI-designated testing application, ensuring uniform evaluation. 

• Improved Monitoring and Updated Standards 

o The monitoring framework now allows centralized monitoring systems beyond traditional Building Management Systems (BMS). 

o A defined sampling methodology for non-public areas has been introduced. 

o The manual is aligned with the latest National Building Construction Standards (NBCS)

This shall come into force on June 09, 2026.
