BSE notified regarding the Membership of Electronic Gold Receipt (EGR) segment of BSE

Industry Specific ComplianceThe Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on June 09, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Membership of Electronic Gold Receipt (EGR) segment of BSE.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Any entity seeking exclusive membership in the EGR segment must obtain registration under the applicable provisions of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Stockbrokers Regulations, 2026. 

• A minimum net worth of ₹1 crore is required to become a Trading Member in the EGR segment. 

• Fees for New Applicants 

o Admission Fee: ₹50,000 + GST (one-time). 

o Annual Membership Subscription: ₹1,00,000 + GST per financial year. 

• Existing members of BSE Limited applying for the EGR segment are exempt from admission and membership-related fees for segment registration. 

• Base Minimum Capital (BMC) Requirement ranges from ₹10 lakh to ₹50 lakh, depending on whether trading is proprietary, client-based, and/or uses algorithmic trading (Algo). Algo trading categories require ₹50 lakh BMC. 

• Trading Members must pay a one-time SEBI registration fee of ₹50,000 + GST directly to SEBI through NEFT/RTGS. 

• Application Process 

o New applicants can download the required registration forms from the BSE website. 

o Existing BSE Trading Members must apply for EGR membership through the BEFS portal. 

o For existing members, Membership Deposit, Admission Fee, and Processing Fee are all Nil.
