The Government of Kerala, on June 10, 2026, issued the Draft Kerala Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969.
The following has been stated:-
•Rule 44 has been amended to disqualify persons declared of unsound mind by a competent court, minors, and nominal or associate members from holding committee membership.
•Rule 60(2) has been updated by replacing references to the Kerala Co-operative Protection Fund 2023 with the Co-operative Revival Fund Scheme under Section 57E of the Act.
•The amendments align eligibility provisions and fund references with the current statutory framework.
Objections or suggestions may be given within 15 days.
