The Ministry of Coal on June 12, 2026, issued a notification regarding the extension of the deadline for inviting comments/suggestions on the Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) under the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects.
The following has been stated:-
•The Ministry of Coal has extended the deadline for submitting comments and suggestions on the Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) under the Scheme for Promotion of Surface Coal/Lignite Gasification Projects until June 19, 2026.
•The scheme, approved by the Government of India with an outlay of ₹37,500 crore, aims to promote coal and lignite gasification projects through a transparent bidding process.
•Selected projects will be eligible for reimbursement of 20% of the Plant and Machinery cost.
•The draft RFP was initially published on June 05, 2026, for stakeholder consultation.
