Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Tamil Nadu on June 5, 2026, amended the Tamil Nadu Wine (Manufacture) Rules, 2006, by introducing an additional fee applicable to licensees engaged in the manufacture of wine in the State.

The amendment inserts a new sub-rule in Rule 4, providing that, in addition to the existing licence fee, an additional fee of ₹20 per Standard Case of Wine shall be payable by the licensee on every case of wine issued or sold before its removal from the manufactory. The fee forms part of the conditions attached to the licence for manufacturing wine.

For the purpose of the amendment, a “Standard Case” has been defined as a case containing 12 bottles of 750 ml each, 24 bottles of 375 ml each, or 48 bottles of 180 ml each.
