Commercial ComplianceThe Government of Nagaland, on May 8, 2026, extended the applicability of existing emission norms for the registration of tractors and other agricultural machinery until June 30, 2026, in line with directions issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

The extension has been granted under Section 110(3)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, following MoRTH's draft proposal to revise implementation timelines for emission standards applicable to tractors and agricultural machinery. The measure allows such vehicles to continue being registered under the existing emission norms during the transition period.

Accordingly, the effective date specified under Column No. 2 of Table No. 2 of Rule 115A(9) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, stands extended up to June 30, 2026, facilitating uninterrupted registration of tractors and agricultural machinery in the State.
