The Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeiTY) on June 17, 2026, issued a notification regarding Maharashtra Family ID (Mahasarathi) Now Available on DigiLocker.
The following has been stated:-
•Around 14 crore Maharashtra residents can now access and share their Mahasarathi (Family ID) through the DigiLocker platform.
•Citizens can fetch their existing Family ID or digitally enrol for a new one directly via DigiLocker with consent-based verification.
•The integration enables secure, paperless access to a legally valid digital credential for availing government schemes and services.
•It also supports seamless use of household information on the Aaple Sarkar platform.
•The initiative strengthens Digital India’s vision of transparent, citizen-friendly, and digitally empowered governance.
