Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Heavy Industries (MoHI) on June 17, 2026, issued the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme.

The following has been stated:-

•The Ministry of Heavy Industries has extended the PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme to support electric ambulances (e-ambulances), including Patient Transport Vehicles (Type B), Basic Life Support (Type C), and Advanced Life Support (Type D) ambulances. 

•Eligible vehicles must comply with prescribed safety, electric powertrain, and ambulance standards issued by transport and health authorities. 

•Central and State Government departments, agencies, and PSUs can also avail the incentives, which are additional to benefits under existing health schemes. 

•The demand incentive will be the lower of ₹30,000 per kWh of battery capacity or 35% of the vehicle’s ex-factory price. 

•The scheme aims to support around 3,811 e-ambulances during FY 2026-27 and FY 2027-28 with a total outlay of ₹500 crore. 

•It also mandates domestic manufacturing of key EV components and requires a minimum 5-year/1.25 lakh km warranty on the battery, motor, and vehicle.
