The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (MoCAFPD) on June 17, 2026, issued the Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Second Amendment Rules, 2026 to further amend the Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2013.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In the Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2013 in rule 18, for sub-rule (3), the following shall be substituted:-
“(3) A fee of rupees ten thousand shall be payable at the time of renewal of recognition of a Government Approved Test Centre for a period of one year in respect of each equipment.”
