Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) on June 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding bans fixed dose combination of Cefuroxime and Serratiopeptidase.

The following has been stated:-

•The Central Government has prohibited the manufacture, sale, and distribution of the fixed dose combination of Cefuroxime + Serratiopeptidase with immediate effect under Section 26A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. 

•Expert committees and the Drugs Technical Advisory Board concluded that the combination lacks clinical evidence, is not supported by standard therapeutic guidelines, and is pharmacologically irrational. 

•The review found no therapeutic justification for the combination and identified safer alternatives. 

•The ban has been imposed in the interest of public health and patient safety.
