The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoH&FW) on June 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding bans fixed dose combination of Amoxicillin, Cloxacillin, Lactic Acid Bacillus, and Serratiopeptidase.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Government has prohibited the manufacture, sale, and distribution of the fixed dose combination of Amoxicillin + Cloxacillin + Lactic Acid Bacillus + Serratiopeptidase with immediate effect under Section 26A of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
•The decision follows recommendations from expert committees and the Drugs Technical Advisory Board, which found the combination to be pharmacologically irrational and lacking therapeutic justification.
•Available scientific evidence did not support its efficacy or rational use, while safer alternatives were available.
•The ban has been imposed in the interest of public health and patient safety.
