The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on June 17, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Transaction in Securities of Unlisted Public Limited Companies on various Platform.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has observed that certain electronic platforms and websites are facilitating transactions and trading in unlisted securities of public limited companies without authorization.
• SEBI has reiterated its earlier warnings against conducting transactions or sharing sensitive personal information on such platforms, as they are neither recognized nor regulated by SEBI.
• Fund raising and trading in securities should be undertaken only through SEBI-recognized stock exchanges, which are the authorized platforms for such activities.
• Investors using these unauthorized platforms will not be entitled to protections available under SEBI and exchange regulatory frameworks.
• Disputes arising from transactions on such platforms will not be covered by exchange-administered investor grievance mechanisms or the online dispute resolution system.
• SEBI has cautioned investors against dealing in unlisted securities through unauthorized online platforms, highlighting the absence of regulatory oversight, investor protection, and dispute resolution safeguards.
