The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) on June 22, 2026, issued notification on enforcement of Jan Vishwas Act Amendments for Dock Workers Act from July 1, 2026.
The Central Government, through Notification S.O. 3266(E), has appointed July 1, 2026, as the effective date for enforcement of specific provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026.
These provisions relate to amendments made to the Dock Workers (Regulation of Employment) Act, 1948, as specified under serial number 10 of the Schedule to the Act.
Accordingly, the notified amendments aimed at improving compliance and regulatory framework under the Dock Workers Act will come into force from the said date.
