The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) on June 22, 2026, issued notification on enforcement of Jan Vishwas Act Amendments for Major Port Authorities Act from July 1, 2026.
The Central Government has notified July 1, 2026, as the date on which certain provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2026 will come into force.
These provisions specifically pertain to amendments made to the Major Port Authorities Act, 2021, as listed under serial number 72 of the Schedule to the Act.
With this notification, the relevant amendments aimed at enhancing regulatory efficiency and compliance in the major ports sector will become effective from the said date.
